Most Celebrity weddings are held at scenic locales, or in castles, or on enchanting beaches etc. but no matter where it is held, these weddings definitely hold the attention of most media and celebrity fans.
Celebrity weddings are more often than not, extremely lavish, extravagant events, with the celebrity couple spending on clothes, the wedding venue, the food & drink, and sometimes also for media attention. The recent Wayne Rooney wedding is rumoured to be the most expensive ever, with an estimated cost of about £5 million. The wedding party consists private jets to fly guests to the supposed venue, wedding rings costing £100,000, stags and hens for decorations, an elaborate Durazzo Villa in the country of Italy, and also as a gift to each guest â a box of rare butterflies for them to release into the air.

1931 -- Pilot Amelia Earhart and publisher George Putnam, in Noank, Conn. Putnam proposed to Earhart six times prior to her finally agreeing to marry him. In a letter written to her husband on their wedding day, Earhart wrote, "I want you to understand I shall not hold you to any medieval code of faithfulness to me, nor shall I consider myself bound to you similarly." She also kept her own name, as she believed that spouses should be viewed as equals with dual control. Earhart wore a brown suit and did not carry flowers in a ceremony that lasted five minutes.
2009 -- Actress Kristy Swanson and Olympic figure skater Lloyd Eisler, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Swanson and Eisler met on the reality television show "Skating with Celebrities," where they were paired up as partners and later went on to win the competition. Kristy walked down the aisle to Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" and the couple performed their first dance to Edwin McCain's "I'll Be," a song they skated to on their reality show.
