The She Said 'Yes' Engagement Party « Wedding Bird
A couple of months ago, AJ and I decided to throw ourselves an engagement party. Why? It was really just a good excuse to get our family and friends together for one night.
At first I was a little nervous about looking up what happens at an engagement party. I googled my little heart out and couldn’t find very much information to help me with this. From what I could find, normally it is thrown by the bride’s parents, however times have changed and how pretty much anyone can throw you a party. So we did it ourselves. The only thing I could find, which is normally done at an engagement party, is the FOB (Father of the Bride) and the groom makes a speech.
According to The Knot book of lists, here are some items that should be on my to-do list:
[ ] decide on a date
[ ] share your guest list
[ ] register
[ ] prepare to toast
[ ] keep track of gifts
So, how did we plan our party?
The first thing we did was set up a wedding website. I’ll explain this a bit more in a later post, but for now I’ll just say that we chose the one we did, because of the RSVP feature of the site.
