Our perfect wedding cake topperWe bought this as our wedding cake topper, because we also wanted to include a small figurine of our dog.These are about 6.5 inches tall, so they are the perfect height.nice quality, looks just like the picture.

I am in love with this. It will be perfect for the top of my cake! Looks exactly like the picture and they are stunning! I love the detail that their faces have, not too life like but not a doll face either. I love it and i can't wait to see it on top of my cake.

The bride and groom are far and away the most popular style of vintage wedding cake topper. It should be noted that before the 1950s, there were no bride and groom sets of color being produced (and they remained quite rare even after the ’50s). You will at times, however, run across very rare and highly collectible toppers which have been repainted to match the skin tone of the original bride and groom who used them at their wedding. A creative bride could also use this technique today to personalize a vintage cake topper that she likes.
Most of the vintage cake toppers on the market date from the 1920s through the 1950s and early 1960s (after that, the quality tended to decline, making a topper from the 1970s no better or more unique than one you could buy new today). The most collectible toppers come from Europe, especially Germany. Each decade had its own variations, although there are more similarities across the years than differences. There are handpainted celluloid Kewpie couples from the 1920s, German bisque, and even figurines with crepe paper clothing. The 1930s ushered in Bakelite couples, and in the 1940s porcelain brides with net veils and silk flower bouquets were popular. Some of the best 1950s cake toppers feature debonair grooms in white dinner jackets with shawl collars arm-in-arm with their lovely brides in their sets of pearl bridal jewelry.
