You Scent You'll Never Forget! — Always A Blogsmaid
I’m terrible with names at parties and things, but I have a disgustingly adept visual and sensory memory. Faces, outfits, wedding gowns all unforgettable to me. As are smells. I’ve never sniffed something and not remembered it in my brain somewhere. This has its pros and cons; Amazing baked goods, awesome, Stinky homeless man, terrible.
The other day I was in Duane Reade and I saw a bottle of Drakar Noir that so took me back to my first kiss it was all I could do to stop myself from buying a bottle just to sniff it again (Happily, I didn’t). It got me thinking that, like good tasting food and fabulous drinks, the scent of a woman on her wedding day is a detail you can choose to forget, but could potentially delight in remembering.
And since you are going to go the distance and think about how you want your hubby to remember you smelling on your wedding day, why play it safe with a perfume from Saks or Sephora? Why not go the distance and do something outrageous. If you are in or visiting New York, I suggest that you run, don’t walk to Aedes De Vanustas . Luckily once you pick some things there (and they load you with splendid samples) you can restock online. Their collection of perfumes include some more well known brands like Creed and some amazing imports with Sexy 10 names like 3 Fleurs and Cuir Ottomon or my personal FAVORITE Chergui (”named after a wind that blows from the ocean over the dessert”) from Serge Lutens.
