Not just a bud vase.......My favorite steakhouse serves champagne in a fun, cylindrical flute. A very modern stemless style, not your grandparents' fussy crystal. I searched all over online before realizing that the expensive-looking flute is actually this Libbey bud vase! I ordered a set of 12 and used them at a New Year's Eve party. Perfect and fairly unbreakable!

Ahh Green, there is nothing quite like it to evoke the feeling of something fresh and crisp. Green has been a rising trend and for good reason. Some of the flowers that are available in green are not available in any other color thus giving a feeling of exclusiveness. Another great thing about the family of green flowers is the texture that is available. These different textures can help to enforce certain themes you may be considering. For example the soft and delicate Alchemillia plays up a vintage theme, while the richly textured Celosia accents an exotic marketplace vibe and the sleek lines of the Green Goddess Calla are the perfect accessory to a contemporary wedding.
Another plus for green flowers is that most are available all year long. The only exceptions are Celosia, Hanging Amaranthus, Buplerum and Alchemillia, these are only available from late Spring through to early Fall. So think of adding a bit of green to your wedding, you will be happy that you did.

It doesn't matter as much as it once did whether wedding flowers are in season or not. These days, you can get almost any flower at any time of the year -- if you're willing to pay extra to have it imported, according to the website The Flower Expert.
"They don't mind paying for it, if the flower is not in season," said bridal consultant Dana Scott of Simply Elegant Consulting in Euclid. The average Cleveland wedding spends between $1,000 and $3,500 on fresh flowers, Scott estimated.
The "buy local" movement hasn't penetrated the wedding business, said Albert Wilhelmy III of Al Wilhelmy Flowers in Cleveland. His brides don't seem to care whether the blooms were grown locally or shipped in from distant places. His florist shop receives regular shipments from growers in Equador, Israel, Canada, Mexico and Hawaii.
Centuries ago, wedding parties simply gathered blooms from the surrounding countryside. Modern brides order greenhouse-grown flowers not only for bouquets, but also for headpieces, cake decorations, pew bows, table centerpieces and displays around the church or venue.
