Completely Unveiled by Weddings Unveiled Magazine: E Session ...
We totally {heart} Meleeneh and Argam's inspired engagement session, photographed by Erin Hearts Court . The couple spent a sunny afternoon in the Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens in Claremont to create their series of romantic, so-in-love images. We especially like the sweet images of the two picnicking in the woods with a basket of oranges and limes and paper hearts strewn on the ground. Persian cooking unveiled in UT's first international cooking class
Pomegranate molasses, rose water, saffron, cardamom and dried rose petals are a few of the ingredients used Saturday as Chef Donna Parang, co-owner of Bella Luna Restaurant, 15 Market Square, taught the art of cooking Persian/Iranian cuisine to a class of 10 students.
The program was the first in a series of eight international culinary classes available through the University of Tennessee's noncredit program.
Standing at a metal table strewn with common and not-so-common ingredients, Parang introduced herself, then explained that she is well-versed in preparing Middle Eastern cuisine because her husband of 32 years is of Iranian descent.
She discussed the variety of ingredients commonly used in that region and said most of them are available online or found locally at stores such as Holy Land on Sutherland Avenue, as well as many Hispanic or Asian markets.
Kenny Burlew, executive chef at Bella Luna, provided a lesson on proper knife skills, then Parang gave the students a brief presentation on sanitary kitchen skills, noting that before she went to culinary school and became co-owner of Bella Luna, she was an epidemiologist for the Knox County Health Department.
