Wedding planning is no mean feat and unless you are experienced at organizing this size of event, then having as many tools at your disposal is a must. A wedding planning checklist will help you to organize your time as well as help you to see what needs doing and when you need to be doing it!
In essence a wedding planning checklist is a time ordered list of everything that is required for a wedding to be successful. They are usually freely available from bridal magazines, wedding directories, wedding planning books and online from wedding websites. If possible look for checklists that come with a host of other goodies such as a budget planner and wedding planning tips and advice.
One thing that you need to be aware of is that most wedding planning checklists will follow the same format, that is of an 18 month planning period and everything required for a traditional white wedding. So for many brides there is a certain amount of editing that will need to be done in order to make the checklist fit with their timeframe and wedding plans.

Dont worry .. lol 4 months is more than enough time! I planned my entire wedding , i got engaged in June, and we are to be wed sept13th-- everything is done.
Our second wedding as well so everything is going to be done short and quick

You've booked the reception site, now it's time to plan the party!
Other details to consider:Call caterers from your list for availability for your wedding date and time. Then start jotting down specifics on your checklist.
Check to see if the reception site has food storage facilities, such as refrigerator. You may have to borrow or rent coolers to keep items cold and chafing dishes to keep hot food at the right (safe) temperature.
Ask a family member or friend to pick up and deliver food to the site. Plan on extras - no one wants to run out of food at a buffet.
At a cake-champagne reception, cake servers can keep the line moving and nut and mint cups filled. Otherwise, consider hiring servers to keep the buffet in order.
Small details matter. Tell servers what to wear and ask them to arrive early to help set up. Make arrangements for clean-up crew. Set up a timetable for when service begins and ends. Have helpers set up tables and prepare food service areas several hours in advance.
Decide between no bar, a hosted bar or tray service. Hire a bartender, if necessary, and if there is a bar, make sure it is fully stocked. Don't forget ice and beverage options for those who don't imbibe.
