Timeless BeautyThis book is not as detailed as his first book, Makeup Makeovers, but more of a compliment. This book focuses specifically on the Bride and Bridesmaids to create that picture-perfect look of timeless beauty for that Special Day. Stunning photographs with classic and timeless looks. A great inspiration for the novice and advance makeup artist. Get both of his books if you can afford to but if you have to choose one or the other, his first book is the best!
Disappointed
I have the author's book Makeup Makeovers, which I did like very much. However, this book is pretty much a rerun of the first. I did not learn anything new. Pictures are the same. And there are no pictures or discussion of the challenges of the mother of the bride, grandmother of the bride age group. I did learn if the bride's hair is up, the attendants hair should be down and to have the bride's lipstick in the groom's pocket. Those tips were not worth the price of the book. Buy one or the other, but you sure do not need both. I should have tried the library first.
Perfect for my wedding!
I decided to do my own makeup for my wedding. My wedding pictures turned out great. My bridesmaids and I looked wonderful! The step by step instructions were easy and a lot of it applies to everyday makeup. The photographs in the book are beautiful as well. I am able to translate that to everyday looks and that makes it useful after the wedding.

What is the best makeup to use for a wedding?
It depends, everyone has a different preferances. I would suggest for you to bring over celebrity magazines such as PEOPLE, INstyle, Redbook, Star, US Weekly and let her flip through it and see which looks she likes. Try atleast 4-5 different looks before you decide which one is going to be final. Make sure you practice days ahead of the wedding and atleast 3-4 times as possible, that way you get more used to the routine and can develope shortcuts to speed up the routine. This also helps because you can experiment through trial and error just incase certain make ups irritate her face (which is a big thing to avoid) and try jotting down notes to see which eye shadows go in order, etc.
I would suggest to keep the make up subtle and light. You want the look to be fresh, not dramatic look with dark shadows. Try to also go over the lip with chaptick first and then color the whole lip with a lip pencil. You want to go over her lips with a lip pencil first because the formula is more dense and do lasts longer than regular lip stick alone and gloss. Remember that she’s going to be taking photots, munching here and there, and greet guests for long hours, so she won’t have alof of time to retouch up her gloss for every 30 minutes. After going over her lip with the pencil and filling it in entirely, go over it with a lipstick again (the colors should be similiar). The eye shadow color has to be consistent with the lip (If you use grey shadows, use lighter pink lips. Darker shadows, goes with darker lips, etc)

I am doing 7 brides maids makeup for a wedding. The thing is i dont know how much to charge. The reason why is because I am only 17. I understand I shouldn't ask for top dollar, but i still want it to be fair. I already did the brides makeup to show her

Event encourages women to swap used prom, bridal wear
The event features a fashion show for gently used prom and bridal dresses and accessories, wedding cake samples from area bakers, hair and makeup consultants, as well as florists and event photographers. Participants are invited to bring their gently used gowns they might like to sell and register them to be showcased on models during the extravaganza.Organizer Pam Applegate said she was inspired to create the extravaganza when shopping for a prom gown with her teenage daughter.
This all started with moms trying to find their girls dresses reasonably. I had started a Facebook group site so that girls could post their gently used dresses online so that other girls could see them, she said. There was another similar page with an administrator in Cambridge. We got together and the idea grew from there. Girls spend hundreds of dollars for a dress that they wear for 2 or 3 hours and then they are done with them.
Unlike more conventional prom and bridal shows, Applegate said the inventory will be based on the dresses brought in by participants and those participants determine the prices of their gowns.
